United Cast Bar (UK) Ltd is proud to be exhibiting at “Get up to Speed with STEM” taking place on 29th of March 2023.
Get up to Speed is an event which aims to showcase STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) related careers to young people and offering the opportunity for businesses from across the UK to engage with the next generation and each other. Last year over 4,500 students attended the event, the first face to face since the pandemic.
David Beet, Relations Manager at United Cast Bar Ltd., along with Abi Lawson, Connor Turner, Mason Shirtcliffe, Harry Snell, all currently taking part in United Cast Bar`s apprenticeship program along with Ruben Pare in our graduate scheme will be manning our stand.
We will be demonstrating the innovative “Casting in a Box” collaboration; a project developed by the Cast Metals Federation to demonstrate the theory of casting without the danger of hot molten cast iron. Instead, the project uses a metal with a much lower melting point with enables students to produce small castings they can keep as a memento and an inspiration.
United Cast Bar`s aim is to inspire young people, bring them closer to our industry and show them the fascinating world of continuously cast iron – they are our future managers and engineers!
